I won’t be winning any parent of the year awards.

Over the last 4 days I realized that I won’t be winning any parent of the year awards and this is why.  On friday, Carrie brought the boys up to work to see me.  Josh was being Josh and running around.  While doing so he was running full speed and smacked his cheek into the side of a desk.  All I could do was laugh because he was really moving and then BOOM he was on the floor.  Secondly, we went to the State Fair of Texas today and Carrie and I forgot to take sunscreen.  Wyatt got really burnt on his face and I feel like such a shmuck for letting that happen.

Well I am interested to see how this week plays out in the world of Wachfargo.  I imagine that not a whole lot will change this week but we will see.  I am off to bed now because tomorrow is 6am basketball.

My brother, Steve, and his wife, Jackie, were blessed to have twin girls today.  If you would like to see pictures go to Jackies blog.  The link is on my blogroll.

What to do?

I had a wild and crazy week again.   Citi and Wells finally finished fighting and it looks like Wells won Wachovia and Citi is going to sue.  So the question I have been asking myself is, What does this mean for me?  Am I going to have a job? if so who am I going to work for?

Do all of these things really matter?  Most people would say yes but I am not sure.  I am certain that the Lord will provide and being that there is nothing I can do to change anything I should just let go and let God.  It is hard though because I am the type of person that likes to be in control of my future.  Wachovia is going forward with the opening of my new branch and the regional banking director says that i “will be fine” despite the fact that there is a wells fargo within a half a mile from the new bank.  Pray for me, I need it.

Tonight my friend asked me to go with him to the Dallas Stars game.  Great game but the Stars lost.  Have a great weekend folks I plan to.

Canes vs. Noles Wooohooo!!

Well yesterday I woke up with anticipation of being able to sit in my recliner and watch, what used to be, one of the most fierce rivalries in all of college sports, FSU vs. Miami.  Thats right my canes vs. the hated seminoles.  After 4 hours of cleaning and laundry I sat down in my recliner, turned on the tv only to find out that the game “is not available in your area.”  CRAP!!! This is what I had planned for my afternoon.  So I hopped on the computer and found my way to espn360 and luckily they were broadcasting the game there so I was able to watch on my computer.  The first half was hard to watch but we came out in the second half with a vengance and made a game of it.  The canes lost 41-39 but at least we made it interesting.

Update on wachovia’s love triangle…

it was announced this morning on yahoo news that citi filed an injunction with the supreme court and a supreme court judge has placed a temporary block on the sale of wachovia to wells fargo until this thing can be figured out.

What an eventful week.

Well I guess I will start with monday.  News comes down we(wachovia) has been sold to Citibank.  So like a good employee I get behind the company and say everything I am told to say.  Honestly I thought this was a great merger and I was excited to work for such a large company.  Tuesday the rescue/bailout plan is not passed by the senate and the dow crashes 777 points.  That did not directly effect me so I was not that bothered.  Wednesday I was supposed to take Wyatt for his 1 year check up only to find out his appointment was actually scheduled for thursday.  Thursday uneventful.  Friday the preverbial(check the spelling on that) poop hit the fan.  I woke up to a text message from a colleague who informed me that we(wachovia) had been sold to Wells Fargo.  Thats right the same Wachovia that on Monday was sold to Citibank.  And so it began the longest most nerve racking day I have had at this company in the two years I have been there.  We had about a 30 minute conference call right at 8am and another 1 hour call at 10am.  During the second conference call we learned that Citibank had filed a greviance against Wachovia and Wells Fargo demanding that they terminate any talks they were having as Citi had an exclusivity agreement with Wachovia and that Wachovia was in breach of that agreement by doing the deal with wells fargo.  That still has not been figured out and probably wont be for a little while.  Well I spent the rest of the day contemplating my future and trying to figure out if I will have a job after the merger.  Unfortunately that question cannot be answered at this point but I know the Lord will provide and make a way where there seems to be no way.

Have a great weekend everyone, I plan to.

Boys, Blood and no sleep.

I love my boys!  Don’t get me wrong, I love my girls too but boys and dads have a different type of bond.  I had a good day with the boys yesterday.  We went to target and then walmart looking for a belt to fit Josh and then on to McDonalds where Josh played and Wyatt ate.  After that we came home and Wyatt had a nap and Josh played with Marley(our dog).  After a while Carrie and the girls came home and we had some dinner and decided that last night was a good night for a bike ride.  During the walk/bike ride Zaynah, like she normally does, decided that riding the bike was too difficult for her to do and she wanted to give up.  For some reason I was feeling extra mean dadish and told her no.  Zaynah gives up way to easy most of the time and I was not going to allow it this time.  After we had that breakthrough Carrie and I decided that we would try to teach Aliya how to ride her bike without her training wheels.  That too was an adventure but she is getting it and in no time she will be zooming around on two wheels.  Right before bed time Wyatt was walking around the living room and fell hitting his mouth on the brick fire place and that is where the blood and no sleep come in.  He bled and bled and bled and bled and screamed and bled and screamed and so on.  We finally got him to sleep and about 30 minutes later he started screaming again.  When I went in his room he was bleeding again.  Wyatt and I watched “baby einsteins” until 2:15am and about 2:40am I laid him in his bed after having a serious round of praying so that he would sleep.  He slept and is doing fine today but I laid awake for the next hour waiting for him to wake up.   What a night!!

What a wild time!!!

Most people who read this know that I work for a bank and in this economic state it can be kind of difficult right now.  You have no idea.  I actually work for Wachovia, or is it Citigroup now, I don’t know.  I started this new career about 2 years ago and really love it but there is so much uncertainty in this industry it can be scary at times.  I guess working for Citigroup will be fine because they don’t have very many branches in this area so I should be fine as far as keeping my job.  I am not sure how this “bailout” will effect my business but I really don’t see how it can get any worse.  It gets hard trying to tell people there money is safe when every news station is telling them we are in a recession and that the economic state of this country is a disaster.

Well I will try to do better at blogging and hope I still have a few people reading this.
